Pyrethrum Natural Insecticides
About Kenya Pyrethrum
Pyrethrum was introduced into Kenya in 1928 as an experimental crop by European Settlers.
This was due to the magic climate and volcano soil in the rift valley and white highlands. This gives a superior final formulated product – a perfect balanced effect of PI & PII of 50%50.
Unique nature
Kenyan pyrethrum comes in more than six different sub-species. These species are grown in more than 10 regions, with different climatic conditions and soil compositions.
Small scale farmers often farm 0.5 – 5 Ha, and dominate the production space. Unlike the Industrial heavy machines harvesting, hand picked harvesting practices enable final pyrethrin’s composition to be balanced and perfect.
Advantage of small scale
No Chemicals are used during farming – Farmers use tradition weeding practices because they do not have larger farms.
